I think these questions in life, on our spiritual walk, are good. They cause us to continue seeking understanding and wisdom which are so highly valued in Proverbs. God truly is a mystery. He reveals parts of Himself to us as we can handle it and as we seek it, but if we had it all figured out, if we had Him all figured out, then there would be no purpose in having faith. Moreover, if we knew everything, wouldn't that make us God ourselves? I am thankful that I am not and don't have to make the hard decisions He does, that's for sure...

I love this topic! i grew up singing the songs "God is in control!" And the age old question in every religion class,"But if God is good, then why does bad things happen?" If God is in control of everything that means every evil thing we are attributing to His nature. ie. the Holocaust, Being a Controller would mean He set up 6 million Jews to be killed then told believers to pray against it. that would be split personality, God vs. Jesus. No. God is good All the time! No evil comes from Him. Even Lucifer had a choice. We have choices, and yes He does know the out come. the choices started in the garden of Eden, if there was no tree (choice) even paradise would be a prison. we are confronted with the same choice as adam and eve, everyday. Chose knowledge of good and evil or chose eternal life. As a parent, in certain situation, i know what my kids will choose but i still give them the choice. God said about His Son, "this is my Son, in whom I am well pleased." when we are born again, we are found in Jesus. We exist to give Him pleasure! We love Him because He first loved us. ~1 John. 4:19. Hes outside of time! He is the Alpha and the Omega. a funny way to say He went to the end of your life, saw that you chose Him, came back to your present and said I chose you before you chose Me. predestination does not mean we become robots. in right relationship with the Father, we get an invitation to see what He sees coming in our lives.

This is very well written Morgan & great food for thought (& spirit). Based on what you have read in scripture regarding GOD & control, it does seem that He does not want control over our freedom of choice. And I love the Veggie Tales quote. Yes, things would be a lot easier if GOD would make everyone LOVE him, obey Him & accept His truth, but from the beginning, that was not His plan. A few of GODs many attributes are sovereignity, omnipotence & omnicience. That being so, GOD gives us free will but already knows what we will choose & therefore does He use that knowledge to create His sovereign plan or are our choices predetermined to fit His plan for the world & people? Hope that made sense. This is something I struggle to understand. Any thoughts?
